When you feel like your playing the same old stuff and wanting more material to work with. Start out easy. Rome wasn’t built in a day!! The more Suns that rise in the morning and set in the evening. The more Moons that go thru her cycle of new moon to full moon must be completed for us to achieve the greatness we seek on our guitar journey. So with that out of the way, start with easy tasks like playing scales or runs forwards & backwards. 
Not only that there easy to get many more notes and melodies out of you scales instead of just going up and down the scale. Hit the first two notes in order and turn around and go back one or two notes and turn around again and go up two more notes up the scale and turn around again. Let me try & draw an image in your head. Take the DO RA MI FA SO LA TI DO scale, and try this forwards and backwards. DO MI RA FA MI SO FA LA SO TI LA DO!!!!! That’s pimp shit right there!! Now it sounds like you are soloing just being creative with a basic scale! Ha ha we like those little tricks that make our music better and it makes us sound way more sophisticated than we really are. I’ve got many methods like this I use and I can keep on making up more and more methods like that if I chose to. That’s due to the fact I’m keeping it simple at first and it’s how you look at it as a whole. Are you truly stuck in the box on your thought process, or are you am outta the box thinker? I know which one I choose to be. If you don’t think of it that way it could help if you step back and look at it a different way! Well for now that should give ya some insight on feeling like your stuck. You’re really not stuck, just start thinking out side of the box, and WAH LAH, you’re unstuck!
